I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />CASE # <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH ANOKA COUNTY FOR <br />PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT <br /> By: Police Chief David Gustafson <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />A joint powers agreement for the Public Safety Communications Project was passed by both the <br />Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement Council and the Fire Protection Council with the <br />recommendation that it be executed by all governmental units in the County. This joint powers <br />agreement, which is attached for Council review, reflects the concept under which the Anoka <br />County Board is moving forward to implement a new public safety communications system. <br />Anoka County and several cities have already executed the agreement and County Attorney <br />Robert M.A. Johnson is requesting that the City of Ramsey consider execution of the agreement. <br />The County Attorney has indicated that he would be willing to attend the Council meeting and <br />answer questions the Council may have regarding the joint powers agreement. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Authorize execution of the Anoka County Public Safety Communications Project Joint Powers <br />Agreement. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />Police Chief <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />CC: 09/24/02 <br /> <br />-103- <br /> <br /> <br />
