PUBLIC HEARING AND LEVY OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS <br />FOR THE 2002 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />CASE <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The 2002 Street Maintenance Program consisted of seven individual projects covering 16.3 miles of streets <br />which include 6.94 miles of Municipal State Aid streets (MSA). The individual projects are as follows: <br /> <br />02-01 <br /> <br />02 -06 <br />02 -07 <br />02-08 <br /> <br />02-09 <br />02-10 <br /> <br />SEALCOATS <br />Alpaca Estates 4th <br />Alpine Estates <br />Stanhope River Hills <br />Ford Brook Est. w/o TH 47 <br />Nature View <br />Dellwood Hills <br />Countryside Estates <br />MSA Streets - Seals <br />Xkimo 142na/TH 47 <br />Sanwood Drive CR 116/CR 56 <br />Alpine Drive TH 10/Puma <br />Roanoke Street - Alpine/Juniper Ridge Dr <br /> <br />02-11 <br />02-12 <br /> <br />OVERLAYS <br />Pineview, Pineview 2n'~, Greenland Hills, Greenland Hills 2nd <br />MSA Street - Overlays <br />Alpine Drive - Puma/CR 83 <br />Alpine Drive - Variolite/CR 56 <br />Alpine Drive - CR 57/CSAH 5 <br />Alpine Drive - CSAH 5/47 <br /> <br />Six projects covering 10.28 miles of roadway consisted of sealcoating proceeded by the filling of major <br />cracks. Only five of these projects will be assessed, since project 02-01 was funded by developers escrows <br />set-as/de for the first sealcoating of a newly constructed pavement. <br /> <br />Two projects covering 6.94 miles of street consisted of placing a one and one half-inch bituminous overlay <br />over the existing pavement. All projects have been substantially completed and the final costs tabulated. <br /> <br />The City's policy is to assess 50% of the total cost of the work to the benefited property owners.
