The applicant is proposing to construct a detached accessory building that would be approximately 22 feet in height, which results in about a 6-foot deviation from City Code. The applicant would like to exceed the 16-foot height restr/cfion in order to match the roof style of the principal structure. Staff is of the opinion that constructing the garage to closely match the principal structure roofline design is preferable and will be an improvement to the property. Citizen Input There was none. Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Reeve, to close the public hearing. Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, Reeve, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Brauer. The public heating closed at 8:11 p.m. Commission Business Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Plann/ng Commission back to order at 8:11 p.m. Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, to recommend that City Council adopt findings of fact relating to William and Elizabeth Erhart's request for a conditional use permit to exceed accessory building height requirements on the property at 4740 154th Lane. Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, Reeve, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: CommissionerBrauer. Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by' Commissioner Johnson, t° recommend that City Council approve William and Elizabeth Erhart's request to exceed accessory building height restrictions based on the findings of fact, and adopt a resolution declaring terms of same.
