City Code requires a 20-foot landscape area adjacent to all
public streets. Earlier this evening the Board of Adjustment denied the Applicant's request for a
variance to the landscape requirement adjacent to Sunfish Lake Boulevard.

Commissioner Johnson asked the project architect, Mr. Ovick, if the Applicant would prefer that
the request for site plan review be tabled at the Planning Commission Ievel based on the denial of
the variance.

Mr. Ovick stated the Applicants wanted to start construction this. Fall and if tabled at the
Plaiming Commission level, it would kill the project.

Commissioner Johnson stated the Commission might want to make a recommendation on the site
plan and allow the Applicant to proceed to City- Council for the final decision.

Planning Commission/August 29, 2002

-309-
