I I I I I I I I Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to adopt Ordinance #02-28 creating density transition standards. A roll call vote was performed by the Recording Secretary: Councilmember Hendriksen aye Cotmcilmember Anderson aye Councihnember Kurak aye Councilmember Zimmerman nay Mayor Gamec aye Motion can'ied. Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he did not feel they were adopting a density transition ordinance, in his opinion it was more a screening ordinance. He felt it was a mask with elections being around the comer. Councilmember Hendriksen replied that he agreed with Councilmember Zimmerman, but the reason he voted in favor of the ordinance is because he felt "a half a loaf of bread is better than a whole loaf of bread." Case #8: Adopt Ordinance Vacating Certain City Street City Engineer Olson stated that as part of the discussion about the expansion of the Public Works facility, staff was directed to proceed with the process to combine the north and south facilities to accommodate the City's need for additional space for Public Works. Probable future public purpose for this segment can be protected with the use of drainage and utility easements. A public hearing was held on the proposed vacation on July 23, 2002, and no comments were offered. The ordinance was introduced at the July 23, 2002 City Council meeting. Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to adopt Ordinance #02-26 vacating certain City streets.
