Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if they are better off putting the information on the web. Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained that most of the information in the Ramsey Resident is placed on the web. Finance Officer Lund reviewed the Finance Department, Assessment, Legal Services, and Data Processing budget requests. Councilmember Hendriksen inquired about the $31,000 budgeted for imaging software. Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained that in 2003, $10,000 was budgeted for imaging software and significant research has been done on the different products available and staff is at a point to recommend a product Community Development Director Frolik reviewed the Planning and Zoning, and Inspection budget requests. _. Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler reviewed the Fire Protection, Traffic, Engineering, and Street Maintenance budget requests. Councihnember Kurak inquired if the City has a sweeper or a plow for the trails to be plowed this winter for the kids walking to school. Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler replied that the budget initially included funds to purchase such equipment, but it was pulled because the assumption is the school will start the bussing again. Councilmember Anderson stated that her understanding is that the district hopes to restore some of the busing by the first of the year if the levy passes. Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler stated that if the City has to maintain the sidewalks, staff would make it work. Sergeant Way reviewed the Police Protection, Civil Defense, Animal Control, and Community Orienting Policing budget requests Finance Officer Lund reviewed the Council contingency budget requests. City Administrator Norman stated that the adoption of preliminary budget and levy will be brought forward to the next Council meeting on September 11th. COUNCIL INPUT None.
