Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if they are better off putting the information on the web. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained that most of the information in the Ramsey <br />Resident is placed on the web. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund reviewed the Finance Department, Assessment, Legal Services, and Data <br />Processing budget requests. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired about the $31,000 budgeted for imaging software. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained that in 2003, $10,000 was budgeted for imaging <br />software and significant research has been done on the different products available and staff is at <br />a point to recommend a product <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik reviewed the Planning and Zoning, and Inspection <br />budget requests. _. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler reviewed the Fire Protection, Traffic, Engineering, <br />and Street Maintenance budget requests. <br /> <br />Councihnember Kurak inquired if the City has a sweeper or a plow for the trails to be plowed <br />this winter for the kids walking to school. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler replied that the budget initially included funds to <br />purchase such equipment, but it was pulled because the assumption is the school will start the <br />bussing again. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that her understanding is that the district hopes to restore some <br />of the busing by the first of the year if the levy passes. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler stated that if the City has to maintain the sidewalks, <br />staff would make it work. <br /> <br />Sergeant Way reviewed the Police Protection, Civil Defense, Animal Control, and Community <br />Orienting Policing budget requests <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund reviewed the Council contingency budget requests. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the adoption of preliminary budget and levy will be <br />brought forward to the next Council meeting on September 11th. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />City Council/September 3, 2002 <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br />-71- <br /> <br /> <br />
