I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I CITY COUNCIL CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a special meeting on Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Susan E. Anderson Councilmember Terry Hendricksen Councilmember Patti Kurak Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present: City Administrator, James E. Norman Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler CALL TO 6RDER Mayor Gamec called the special meeting of the City Council to order at 5:36 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None. APPROVE AGENDA Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Zimmerman, Anderson, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. COUNCIL BUSINESS Case #1: Introduction of Fire Works License Ordinance Director of Public Works/Fire ChiefKapler stated that the 2002 State Legislator made changes to Minnesota Statute 624.20, which now allows for the public sale for a limited number of consumer fireworks. The Fire Department requested some changes to the City Code of ordinances during a Council meeting of May 28, 2002. Staff was directed to draft amendment language for Council consideration. Mr. Kapler explained that the ordinance would limit the amount of storage of fireworks on-site as well as where fireworks shall be permitted to be sold. City Council/June 4, 2002 Page 1 of 4 -13-
