He <br />noted that he had Mr. Steffen as his top candidate because he brings some financial insight, <br />which is something he would like to see. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that Mr. Wallner had the experience of financing a county building. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that Mr. Wallner was aware of the financing, but was not all <br />that involved in the financial aspect. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman recommended Mr. Steffen and Mr. Wallner. <br /> <br />Councih-nember Kurak recommended Mr. Steffen and Mr. Kiefer. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recon~nended Mr. Steffen and Mr. Wallner. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson noted that Mr. Kiefer has a better aspect of what is going on in <br />Ramsey currently. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that there is also something to be said about someone who <br />can take a fresh look at things. <br /> <br />EDA Chairperson Reilley noted that he did not get the impression that Mr. Wallner had the <br />financial sense. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that Mr. Kiefer did not give any information on financial <br />background. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he felt that Mr. Wallner had been exposed to something <br />the City could use from an EDA standpoint. <br /> <br />EDA Chairperson'ReilleY replied that he 'does. want someone who will truly care about the <br />Commission and he feels that Mr. Wallner would. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that if the Chairperson of the EDA was recommending the appointment of <br />Mr. Kiefer he could agree with that. <br /> <br />EDA Chairperson Reilley replied that he knows that Mr. Kiefer has been in the area for a long <br />time, which could be a benefit. <br /> <br />Majority consensus of the inte~wiew panel was to appoint Jim Steffen, and Keith Kiefer to the <br />EDA, and Jerry Wallner as an alternate. <br /> <br />City Council/June 4, 2002 <br /> Page 4 of 8 <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br />I <br /> I <br /> 1 <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I: <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
