Memo
DATE: November 23, 2010
TO: Ramsey Planning Commission
FROM: Community Development Staff
RE: Staff Update
City Council Update. The following is a brief summary of actions taken in November that may be of
interest to the Planning Commission:
Request for a Home Occupation Permit to Operate a Landscape and Lawn Care Service at 14200
Tungsten St NW. The City Council denied the request for a home occupation, citing concerns with on -
street parking creating traffic issues and the number of items parked on the driveway. Staff and City
Council provided the Applicant with several options that would allow operating a portion of the home
occupation on the Subject Property with removing the traffic and storage concerns. Most notably, the
enclosed trailer would need to remain in the detached garage and non-resident employees would not be
allowed to arrive at the Subject Property. The Applicant was offered locations of alternate car pool lots in
the area where non-resident employees could meet.
Introduce Ordinance to Amend City Code Section 117-118 Related to Setbacks in The COR. The City
Council introduced the ordinance to amend setbacks in The COR, consistent with the Planning
Commission's recommendations The ordinance is anticipated to be reviewedfor adoption at the
December 14, 2010 Regular City Council Meeting.
Request for Preliminary Plat Review of COR One.
