MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />DATE: July 23, 2002 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Approval to Operate a Raffle <br /> <br />The attached application from Turn In Poachers - Metro North Chapter for exemption from a <br />lawful gambling license to hold a raffle during the 2002 Game Fair, which is held in the City of <br />Ramsey. City approval/denial is necessary under the State Statues. The Tum In Poachers - <br />Metro North Chapter meets all of the requirements which allows them to remain exempt from <br />licensing, primarily from the standpoint that the commodities to be raffled are valued at less than <br />$12,000. <br /> <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br />-31- <br /> <br /> <br />
