I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I CASE #: PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED VACATION OF CERTAIN STREETS By: Brian E. Olson, Principal City Engineer Background: As part of the discussion about the expansion of the Public Works facility, Staff was directed to proceed with the process to combine the north and south facilities to accommodate our need for additional space for Public Works. The section of street being discussed tonight can be best show on the attached illustration and is described as follows: Proposed 142Nv Avenue N.W. Street Vacation Description That part of 142"d Avenue N.W. as dedicated and depicted on the recorded of GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK, Anoka County, Minnesota, described as follows: That part of said 142nd Avenue N.W. lying westerly of the southerly extension of the east line of Lot 3, Block 2, said GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK and easterly of the southerly extension of the westerly line of said Lot 3. Together with the southerly half of said 142nd Avenue N.W. lying westerly of the southerly extension of the westerly line of said Lot 3 and easterly of the westerly line of Limonite Street N.W. as dedicated and depicted on said recorded plat of GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK. Probable future public purpose for this segments can be protected with the use of drainage and utility easement. The proposed vacation was published according to State law and the attached mailing was sent to property owners within 350 feet of the proposed vacation. Action: Following the public hearing council action would be to order the introduction of an ordinance vacating these segments of City streets and preserving them as drainage and utility easements, assuming no adverse comments are introduced. The Council may also wish to direct the City Attorney to research and advise the Council on ultimate disposition of the land associated with the street vacations.
