Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10 -07 -144 <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE PAID -ON -CALL FIREFIGHTERS <br />WHEREAS, staff would like to bring the City to a full complement of firefighters, and <br />WHEREAS, staff has requested that the Personnel Committee make a motion <br />recommending that the City Council hire the following individuals as paid -on -call Firefighters: <br />Dennis Morphew and Joshua Diekow, and <br />WHEREAS, these individuals would be hired at an hourly wage of $12.88 and would <br />begin employment on July 14, 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, these individuals have successfully completed the necessary background <br />checks, assessments, and medical exams. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />1) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do . the following: <br />Hire the following individuals as paid -on -call firefighters: Dennis Morphew and Joshua <br />Diekow. Both individuals would be hired at an hourly wage of $12.88 and would begin <br />employment on July 14, 2010. Each individual named in this resolution will serve a one- <br />year probationary period and all other personnel policies will apply normally. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />McGlone, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Wise <br />and the following voted against the same <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />Resolution #10 -07 -144 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
