Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #10 -07 -155 AUTHORIZATION TO ESTABLISH A THREE STEP INTERN WAGE SCALE WHEREAS, the City employs temporary interns to assist City departments; and WHEREAS, the starting wage for interns is $12.00 per hour with a maximum of $14.00 per hour with step changes occurring after 1 -year of service and 2 -years of service; and WHEREAS, Staff is requesting the City Council to authorize a formalized intern wage scale with the flexibility to give wage increases earlier than scheduled if necessary or appropriate. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: Authorize a formal three step wage scale as follows: Starting wage at $12.00 per hour, followed by $13.00 per hour after 1 -year of service and $14.00 per hour after 2 -years of service with the flexibility to give wage increases earlier than scheduled if necessary or appropriate. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Look, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Ramsey Councilmember Elvig Councilmember Look Councilmember Jeffrey Councilmember McGlone and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None
