Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />-220- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #02-05- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING NO PARKING REGULATIONS ON BOTH SIDES <br />OF 143RD A¥'ENC~ NW BETWEEN JASPAR STREET NW ANT) EBONY STREET <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on April 16, 2002, the Public Works Committee directed Staff to <br />investigate the reason that there is a number of cars parked on 143fd Avenue NW just east of <br />Jaspar Street N~W; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has received .requests from numerous businesses in the new <br />Gateway North Industrial Park No.5 to restrict parking on 143~d Avenue NW; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Staff has called the businesses in the area and have concluded that the <br />vast majority of the vehicles parked on this stretch of roadway are owned by employees of Vision <br />Ease Lens that are using the street to park due to the proximity to the distribution area of the <br />business that is located near the south portion of the building; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council is committed to the safety and well-being of <br />pedestrian traffic on the City road system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the unrestrdcted parking of vehicles on 143~d Avenue NW in the vicinity of <br />Jaspar Street ~ presents a potential danger to pedestrians; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the unrestricted parking of vehicles on 143rd Avenue NW in the vicinity of <br />Jaspar Street N-W presents a potential difficulty for large turning radius trucks that enter the said <br />industrial park; and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF ~HN~'NESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council implement a 'No Parking' zone on 147 Avenue NW between <br /> Jaspar Street NW and Ebony Street NW. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duty seconded by Councilmember m <br /> , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this 28th day of May, 2002. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />
