-48- <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied that she was unsure if the City had received <br />that grant, but will report back to the Council on that issue. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired as to how they anticipate everyone getting on the same schedule <br />in each area. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik explained that eventually everyone will be on a three- <br />year cycle. She explained that when someone notifies the City of when they had their system <br />pumped it will be entered into the system and then they will be notified three years later that they <br />system should be pumped again. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if the contractor who does the pumping will report to the City. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied that most of them already voluntarily report to <br />the City, but with the new policy it will become mandatory. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if a permit is needed to pump a system what would happen in an <br />emergency situation and City Hall is closed. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied that contractors will be able to purchase several <br />permits. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if people be able to call up to City Hall and find out when <br />their system was pumped. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied that with the new mandated program they will <br />have that ability. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he personally will not vote for it because he thinks it is <br />intentionally onerous and an attempt to encourage people to connect to City services. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to recommend that the City <br />Council amend the 2002 Rates and Charges to include a $5.00 Septic Tank Pumping fee. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
