Voting 'Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Anderson, and Kurak. <br />Voting No: Councilmembers Hendriksen and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Case #6a: Town Center Task Force <br /> <br />David Elvig, 17201 Tungsten Street NW, Ramsey, presented a proposal for a Town Center Task <br />Force Committee, which he would head along with residents to make intelligent <br />recommendations based on facts. The Committee would be made up of five people along with <br />someone from EDA and Planning Commission. The Committee would be required to report <br />their findings to the City Council. The Committee members being recommended were as <br />follows: <br /> <br />· Chris Reilley <br />· DonKveton <br />· Eric Watson <br />· Bonnie Thompson <br />· Alena Hunter <br />· A1 Pearson <br /> <br />EDA <br />Owner of Village Bank <br />Planning Commission Member <br />Resident and Local Realtor <br />Resident <br />Resident and land owner with a significant amount of history <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen stated that he has heard the Committee as being a subcommittee of <br />the EDA and a committee reporting to the City Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Elvig replied that he would prefer it be a committee that reports to the City Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen agreed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmennan stated that Mr. Elvig had made the statement to him that the people <br />chosen for the Committee would represent business and landowners in the City and if someone <br />"got out of line" they would be kicked out. <br /> <br />Mr. Elvig stated that he would like to present a mission statement as well as a series of rules that <br />would leave the political opinions "at the door", because it is supposed to be a fact finding group. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that if it is a Committee sanctioned by the City Council, did <br />they advertise to see if others would be interested. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that there was a precedent for this, being that they appointed <br />an ad-hoc committee during the Comprehensive Plan process. He did not believe that committee <br />was a result of advertising.
