LAND AxND CATTLE COMPANY <br />By: Megan Wald, Associate Planner <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />J.R. Land and Cattle Company has submitted an application to rezone certain property located northwest <br />of Alpine Drive and north of State Highway #10 from B-1 Business to Industrial. The property is being <br />platted as West Ramsey Industrial Park and the rezoning would allow the applicant to develop the <br />property with industrial uses. The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />1. Site location map <br />2. Proposed plat <br />3. Findings of Fact adopted February 26, 2002 <br />4. Letter from Metropolitan Council dated March 19, 2002 <br />5. Proposed Ordinance <br /> <br />Notitication: <br /> <br />In accordance with State Law, the City notified property owners within 350 feet of the subject property of <br />the request for rezoning and the Planning Commission public hearing held on February 7, 2002. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The City Council adopted findings of fact and introduced the rezoning ordinance on February 26, 2002. <br />The rezoning was contingent upon Metropolitan Council approval of a Comprehensive Plan amendment <br />to change the designation on the Future Land Use Map from 'places to shop' to 'places to work.' The <br />City received written notification from Metropolitan Council on March 19, 2002, that the amendment was <br />approved. In accordance with the City Charter, the ordinance is now eligible for adoption. <br /> <br />Recnmmendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends adoption of the ordinance at this time. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to adopt Ordinance #02-~.~ to rezone certain property in Section 19, generally referred to as the <br />proposed plat of West Ramsey Industrial Park, from B-1 Business to Industrial. <br /> <br />Roll Call Vote: <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Anderson <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />Mayor Gamec <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />Copies to: <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />CC: 03126/02 <br /> <br />-103- <br /> <br /> <br />
