I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />APPROVE WAIVING CITY PERMIT FEES FOR THE DIAMONDS 4TIt O17 JULY FUN <br />FEST TO BENEFIT LOCAL YOUTH ATHLETIC ORGANIZATIONS <br /> By: Jo Thieling, City Clerk <br /> <br />The City Conncil has been presented with information regarding the "First Annual 4th of July <br />FunFest". It is a one-day outdoor festival to be held on Thursday, July 4, 2002. It will be held <br />on the grounds of Diamonds Sports Bar & Grill in Ramsey. It will be family-friendly and has <br />been created to raise money for Anoka and Ramsey Youth Athletic Programs. (There are seven <br />youth associations within the Anoka/Ramsey area.) Included in the celebration will be a frill <br />carnival, sports exhibition games and instructions, food, drinks, a bingo tent, live music, <br />fireworks and more. Several local business and organizations are involved. <br /> <br />Mr. Gruber, owner of Diamonds, contacted staff to request waiving the permit fees. The permit <br />fees the City could charge are as follows: <br /> <br />Music Festival Permit $1,000 <br />Carnival Permit $ 250 <br />Peddler/Solicitor if booths are selling $ 100 <br />anything <br /> <br />The youth associations will receive 100 percent of the profit from the event. <br /> <br />Staffwas requested by Council to place an item on the agenda relating to the fees and the request <br />to waive them. Staff is seeking Council approval to waive all fees associated with the event. <br />Mr. Gruber has more than sufficient insurance/liability coverage for special events. <br /> <br />-87- <br /> <br /> <br />
