Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #02-02-XXX RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #99-52, SUNWOOD DRIVE NW CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR STREET & UTILITY WHEREAS, on December 11, 2001 City Council adopted Resolution #01-12-424 approving the plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #99-52, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the six lowest quotes that were received: Bidder LaTour Construction Kuechle Underground, Inc. S.J. Louis Construction, Inc. Redstone Construction North Pine Aggregate, Inc. Three Rivers Construction Amount of Bid $769 415.83 $777 930.67 $778 56O.52 $809 867.60 $810 944.07 $813 921.28 ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE $939,405.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that LaTour Construction is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) 2) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with LaTour Construction in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Improvement Project #99-52 in the amount of $769,415.83. ~'//,/~~ That the'City Engineer is hereby authorized ~ind directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
