-270- Councilmember adoption: introduced the following~esolution and moved for its RESOLUTION #02-02- kJW A RESOLUTION APROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENISIVE PLAN AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMI~ THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT TO METROPOLITAN COUNCIL (._ k~-LA~ ;o.~j~ ~L~/~ ~ WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey as part of the Comprehensive Plan process has · discussed amending the land use designation of the properties shown on Attachment A (the Subject Properties); and WHEREAS, the 200I Comprehensive Plan shows the Subject Properties' designated land use as Places to Shop; and WHEREAS, the City has brought forward the idea that the lower one-third of the Subject Properties' remain as Places to Shop, while the northern two-thirds of the Subject Properties' be designated as Medium Density Urban. Residential; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission and City Council conducted a public hearing on January 24, 2002 in order to take testimony regarding the proposed land use change; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on February 7, 2002 and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the request for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF. RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: I) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves changing the land use designation for the northern tWo-thirds of the Subject Properties to Medium Density Urban Residential with the lower one-third of the Subject Properties remaining as Places to Shop. 2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary documentation to Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan to change the northern two-thirds of the Subject Properties to Medium Density Urban Residential with the lower one-third of the Subject Properties remaining as Places to Shop. 3) That this land use change shall become effective concurrent with the City's receipt of notification of approval from Metropolitan Council.
