-310- <br /> <br />General Goals for Mixed Use <br />The fo[lowing are the goals of the City relative to Mixed Use: <br /> <br />To provide an area where people c~ live, work and play, which <br />supports alternative modes of transit while still accommodating the <br />automobile. <br /> <br />To ensure adequate sen/ice and reta/I opportunities to meet the needs <br />of major employment areas and businesses. <br /> <br />3. To enhance the tocaI labor supply through provision of high density <br /> kousing in close proximity to major places to work. <br /> <br />To create an attractive high quality, community or/ented <br />development that positively reflects on the image and identity of t. he <br />Ramsey Community. <br /> <br />Mixed-Use Policy <br />Widun r. he are~ designated for Mixed-Use, it is the policy of the City to: <br /> <br /> I. Work with the landowners to develop a master plan consistent with <br /> the intent oft. he Mixed-Us~ designation. <br /> <br />4. Allow higher density residential development within the MZxed-Use <br /> area. <br /> <br />Provide safe walkway and trail linkages from the Town Center <br />MLxed-Use area to other public facilities, major employment centers <br />(such as Ramsey Business Park 95) and residential neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Encourage the Northstar Corridor Development Authority. to <br />consider the Town Center Mixed-Use area site for a commuter rail <br />station site and work with, the corridor to plan for such a facility. <br /> <br />7.
