I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS CAPITOL EQuIPMENT PURCHASE UPDATE <br /> By: Grant Riemer, Street Maintenance Supervisor <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On January 8, 2002 the City Council approved the capital equipment purchase of 2002. <br />Include'd in the capitol equipment purchases are two replacement vehicles for the Public <br />Works department. The units being replaced are a 1992 Dodge pickup and a 1990 L- <br />8000 Ford plow truck. The new equipment will be Purchased through the State <br />Cooperative Purchasing Venture. Because the statutory bidding requirements have been <br />met by the State, it will not be necessary for the City to go through the sealed bid process. <br />The approximate replacement costs are as follows: <br /> <br />$32,530.00 for a 2002 Chevrolet ~A-ton pickup with plow equipment <br />$87,347.00 for a 2002 L-800 Sterling single axle truck with ploW equipment <br /> <br />Budgeted amounts for the replacement vehicles were $34,000.00 and $100,000 <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />For informational purpose only <br /> <br />Reviewed by <br />Director of Public Works <br /> <br /> <br />
