CC CASE # <br /> <br />DISCUSSION OF PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE FIRE SERVICE TO BURNS <br />TOWNSHIP <br /> By: Dean Kapler, Fire Chief <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In late 2001 Ramsey Fire was asked to present Bums Township with information about <br />services Ramsey could provide. At the meeting, the town board asked the Ramsey Fire <br />Chief to provide a proposal of services for their consideration. <br /> <br />Attached is a draft proposal for council review. The proposal includes services that match <br />current services received. Note that .the proposal is for the current eastern portion of <br />Bums. This section of Bums generated 14 fire/extrication calls in 2001. The western <br />portion also generated 14 calls. <br /> <br />Discussions with the city attorney indicate past experience in producing contracts to <br />cover this type of activity. <br /> <br />A poll of Ramsey Fire Fighters was in favor of providing services to Bums Township. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Recommendation from Council to direct staff to forward the attached proposal to Bums <br />Township for consideration.
