CONSIDER EMPLOYEE TERMINATION <br />By: Rhonda Heryla, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />A Records Retention Clerk was hired efffective October 6, 2001, with a six-month probationary <br />period. After four months of employment, a performance review was prepared by the City Clerk <br />and Human Resources Manager who have served as interim supervisors for the Records <br />Retention Clerk in the absence of an Assistant City Administrator. Based on the results of the <br />performance review, the interim supervisors determined that Troy Hildebrant was not meeting <br />the requirements of the job. Furthermore, Mr. Hildebrant violated the City of Ramsey's <br />Computer/[nternet/Email usage policy, and it was felt that the combination of unsatisfactory <br />performance and this policy violation was serious enough to place the employee on paid <br />administrative leave. The City Council will be asked to terminate the employee on Tuesday <br />evening. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Based on an unsatisfactory performance review and a flagrant policy violation, staff is <br />recommending the termination of Records Retention Clerk Troy Hildebrant effective February <br />12, 2002.
