-50- 6) Central Park Entrance The Finance Committee recommended that the City Council proceed with the first phase of the Central Park Entrance with a not to exceed amount of $28,000. Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to ratify the recommendations of the Finance Committee for cases 2, 4, and 5 and 6. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilrnembers Hendriksen, Anderson, Kurak, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. 3) Authorize Play Equipment Replacement for River's Bend Park Director of Public ~ks/Fire Chief Kapler stated that earlier this year the Council authorized staff to. ~d(s~/b~te Request for Proposals for replacement of the play structure at River's Bend Park. $50,000 in deprecation funds (from the original Park project) was allocated for':i~ Capital I~¢provement Project. On Thursday, November 15, 2001 the Park and Recreation commissio~'met and recommended that the proposal by Flannagan Sales be approved:~O~:;i~lrdngii~i~}~a~ation. Motion by Councilmember K~ak, se~hded by Councilmember Anderson, to award the River's Bend Play Equipment replacement pr6)i~ t0~Flannagan Sales, Znc., including installation, for a not-to-exceed cost of $50,000 and de~!~are the e~.i.~hag:play equipment (except the spring riders) Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec,~COunc~lmembers Kurak, Anderson, Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT 1) Chapter 9 Subcommittee City Administrator Norman noted that the Chapter 9 subcommittee would be meeting on January 31, 2002 and requested clar/fication if the Committee was to be made up of the entire Council. Consensus of the Council was that the Chapter 9 subcommittee should comprise of the entire City Council. 2) LMC Informational Forum City Administrator Norman noted that there would be a LMC Information Meeting on January 24, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. City Council/January 22, 2002 ~ Page 24 of 27
