d. To ensure proper handling, treatment and maintenance of horses. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Horse Defined. As used in this Section, horse shall mean any <br />stallion, mare, gelding, foal, pony, donkey, ass, burro, mule or animal of horse kind. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Acreage Requirements. The following chart prescribes the <br />number of horses that can be maintained on lots of record of sizes as shown: <br /> <br />Acreage Number of Horses Comments <br /> Permitted <br />Less than 1.5 acres 0 Not permitted. <br />113 - less than 3 acres 2 Permitted only with Conditional Use Peri'nit. <br />3.0 acres or more 2+ Sketch drawing required. <br />Over 3 acres 2+ One additional horse for each full V~ acre <br /> over 3 acres is permitted. <br /> More horses than the prescribed number <br /> permitted only with Conditional Use Permit. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Subd. 4. <br /> <br />Conditional Use Permit Approval Required <br /> <br />Prior to maintaining and boarding a horse or horses on any lot' or parcel <br />within the City which lot or parcel is less than three (3) acres in size, but <br />larger than 1.5 acres in size, the land owner shall apply for and obtain a <br />Conditional Use Permit (CUP) from the City. <br /> <br />An application for the CUP shall be initiated by the landowner where the <br />horse(s) are to be maintained by filing a form prescribed by the City, The <br />procedure to be followed shall be as prescribed in §9.03.04 of this Code. In <br />addition, the Horse Care Commission shall be consulted. <br /> <br />Subd. 5. <br /> <br />Sketch Drawing Required <br /> <br />Prior to maintaining and boarding a horse or horses on any parcel of land <br />three (3) acres or more in size, the landowner shall provide a sketch drawing <br />to the City. <br /> <br />b. Required Sketch Drawing information shall include: <br /> <br />Name and address of the fee owner of the subject property where the <br />horse(s) are to be maintained and the name and address of occupant of <br />subject property. <br /> <br />2.
