I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I Request for Proposal Playstructure for River's Bend Park Dear Play~ound Professional: The City of P,.amsey intends to purchase a wood play structure for River's Bend Park in 2001, with installation completion no later than May 31~ 2002. The purpose of this correspondence is to solicit proposals fi.om your firm. Ramsey City Council and the Park and Recreation Commission have allocated a total of $50,000 for this project. It is expected that the installation of the equipment will be by contract, and therefore $10,000 has been reserved from above for this purpose. Responders to this RFP should indicate if they or their sub-contractors can not perfo.rm the installation [including ali costs] for the figure above. As indicated, the playequipment to be purchased should not exceed $40,000, including all taxes, costs and delivery. The vendor should also specify the date when the installation would be completed by. In order to eligible for this competitive process, the vendor must submit detailed drawings, photos, or renderings of their proposal. All information, [including the installation quote], must be received at Ramsey City Hall, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW no later than 5pm, November 13th 2001 - with only one proposal per vendor permitted. The following considerations should guide the development of your proposal and may be used as a checklist for rank/rig proposals received. The City reserves the right to deviate from the suggestions in any way. The wood play structure shouM include: - · Slides · Swing · Bridge · Climber · Tunnel A stand-alone awing for older youth, in acldit~on to one associated with the modular structure shouM be considered. The equipment should be targeted for childa'en between 6 and 10 years old. The vertical wood posts should be a minimum of 51/4" square, with possibly a preference for round £osts ora similar dimen6'ion. The panels and other colored features may compliment the natural wood theme. The equipment should not include see-through-bubbles. The equipment must meet Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines at the time of installation as well as ADA. The treated wood components must be demonstrated as safe for play~'ound use. -289-
