Also, in-house maps (i.e. soil survey, National .Wetland Inventory, USDA <br />digital color slides, digital CIR phots) will also be utilized. Ground truthing will be used to acquire <br />details about the lan&over types for all areas visible from public land. <br />Digitize Landuse/Landcover <br />The ACD will digitize the delineated polygons from the DOQs and label polygons employing ArcView <br />3.2. The labels'wiI1 be assigned from the Minnesota DNR's Land Cover Classification System to level <br />three at least and to level four when practical. <br /> <br />Planninq <br />Cursory G[S Planning <br />ACD will work with local government officials and consulting planners to use GIS data layers including <br />the completed inventory to consider wildlife needs such as interior open space habitat when identifying <br />potential greenways as was done in previous greenways planning projects in Anoka County. <br />Comprehensive Planning <br />The City of Ramsey will undertake a comprehensive planning exercise, whereby they will develop a <br />trails and corridors master plan that incorporates ~eenways protection, as a central tenet. The City of <br />Ramsey will solicit public involvement and opinions through hearings, the Parks and Recreation <br />Committee and the Planning and Zoning Committee'and will provide public education opportunities to <br />improve the understanding of land conservation techniques and ramifications. Utilizing open space <br />design as a tool to manage development will be considered. <br /> <br />Administration and Reporting <br />Final Report <br />The final report will consist of the landcover inventory, the results of the GIS analysis, a description of ' <br />other planning activities and accomplishments, and project finances. <br /> <br />-303- <br /> <br /> <br />
