I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I CITY COUNCIL CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. · Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Susan E. Anderson Councilmember Terry Hendriksen Councilmember Patti Kurak Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present: City Administrator, James E. Norman CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 7:55 p.m. APPROVE AGENDA Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Kurak, Anderson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION #1: Smart Growth Grant Natalie Haas Steffen, Met Council, stated that during the Council meeting last week it was suggested that Eagan had found a legal groun, d for not believing that the Met Council has the authority to approve the Comprehensive Plan. Ms. Steffen provided the Council with the action that Eagan took against the Met Council. She explained that when the City of Ramsey refers to Eagan they need to compare the needs between the two cities. The Met Council has developed a policy that will become effective February 2, 2001, called the Council Alignment Policy which states that Comprehensive Plans that are inconsistent will reduce the city's eligibility for regional improvements or aids that the Met Council has discretionary attthority over.
