I '1 I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I FC CASE # UPDATE ON ELMCREST PARK By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor Background: On December 14, 2000, the Park and RecreatiOn Commission held a meeting to receive comment on the development of Elmcrest Park. This meeting was also an invitation to participate in what was referred to as the Elmcrest Park Concept Plan Steering Committee. Twenty-five residents attended with approximately 16 persons indicating they might be interested in a committee appointment. Residents were mostly supportive of the development of the park; however, there was the expected concern for potential increases in neighborhood traffic. It was explained that a part of the planning process is identifying the location of an access onto T.H. #47. Attached for your information are the draft Park and Recreation Commission meeting minutes and comments presented during the workshop period. The Park Commission determined that the steering committee would be led by Commissioner Michael Rolfe as Chair, with Commissioner Jill Johns as Vice-Chair. Observation: The Commission set the first committee meeting date for 6:00 p.m., January 25, 2001. it was decided that any resident attending the first meeting would participate as part of the committee. The Park and Recreation Commission noted that, to remain effective, the Committee should be limited in numbers of persons. The purpose of this case is to apprise City Council of the development progress of Elmcrest Park. ' Committee Action: None required.
