-24- CITY COUNCIL CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councihnember Susan E. Anderson Councilmember Margaret Connolly Councilmember Terry Hendriksen Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present: City Administrator James E. Norman Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik City Engineer Steve Jankowski Police Chief David Gustafson City Attorney William Goodrich CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. and called upon Councihnember Zirnmen-nan to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. PRESENTATION BY YOUTH FIRST Stan Peichel, Principal of Ramsey Elementary School, re'~iewed the Youth First program and explained that with the expansion of the group's vision, it was necessary to hire a part time coordinator who is Jan Pomeroy, who is also present at the meeting. They requested that the City of Ramsey commit to an annual line item budget of $5,000 to help support the Youth First organization. By receiving this annual support the organization can remain viable and the contribution by the City is a way of showing that they value youth in the community. He explained that the organization is in the process of publishing framed posters that will be posted in the community that addresses student responsibilities. The posters will be posted in the schools as well as at local businesses. 'Mayor Gamec replied that the Council is in the process of reviewing budget items and they can discuss the issue at that time and get back to them with an answer.
