Dear Mr. Boos: I This letter is in response to your November 1, 2000, letter requesting additional information on resident rates at the Anoka Aquatic Center. I will address the three questions that you presented in 7our letter. How much do the swimming lessons cost with and with out resident status? Answer: The cost for Amer/can Red Cross swimming lesson levels is $27.50 for residents and $35.50 for non-residents. The cost for the Infant Preschool Aquatics Program classes is $24.50 for residents and $26.50 for non-res/dents. Is there a resident preference for open swim periods where there are more attendees than capacity? Answer: Yes, resident season pass holders are the fu'st to be allowed entry into the facility. Capacity has been reached only a few times each year, and "resident" pass holders receive preferential status. I I I I Does resident preference apply in situntions where there m~y be more persons signed up for lessons and season passes than openings? . Answer: Yes, residents are given the first opportunity to sign up for swimming iessdns. Non- residenm may register for any ti.me slots remaining after resident registration. Residents have first prior/ty when it comes to scion pass purchasing also. We sell them first to residents; and then, if we feel we can still sell more, we open it to non-residents.
