located on the parcel that was owned by L.W. Makens. The resultant industrial park should be filled by
the end of 2001.

In addition to the development occurring in the newly created districts, we have welcomed new
businesses to the City of Ramsey. Systematic Refrigeration, and H & P Development have located in our
previously established TIF District No. 2 (Business Park 95). Negotiations are also currently underway
with Sharp and Associates, another business that is looking to relocate in Ramsey. Sharp & Associates
are planning to build a new office facility offof Sunfish Boulevard and McKinley Street in the year 2001.

These new businesses will bring with them new jobs that benefit the City of Ramsey. Within a two-year
period, it is estimated that these new businesses will bring the City of Ramsey 70 new jobs. The City will
be able to verify this information because as a participant in the Business Subsidy program, state law
requires that those agencies with the authority to grant business subsidies report the number of new jobs
created by these new businesses by April 1, 2001.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Housing: Through December 2000, the City issued 91 housing permits. This comprised of 79 single-
family homes and 12 duplex/multi-family housing units. This amount is down from the 1999 total of 124
single-fmnily homes and 8 multi-family units. The total number of building permits issued in 2000
(including swimming pools, accessory structures, decks, additions, commercial buildings, septic systems,
etc.) was 904, which compares to 1201 permits issued in 1999.

The value of building permits issued since 1991 is as follows:

1991:$15,212,850
1992 $27,083,600
1993 $39,042,750
1994 $26,416,609
1995 $28,318,900
1996 $41,201,300
1997 $27,464,500
1998 $35,212,900
1999 $23,656,560
2000 $22,559,900

Economic Development
The year 2000 was once again a very busy year for commercial and industrial development in Ramsey.
The City issued 8 building permits for new construction that created over 225,000 square feet of
commercial/office/industrial buildings. The projects included M&G Leasing, Ramsey Towne Square,
ACE Solid Waste, West Radium Business Center, Chalich Trucking, Systematic Refrigeration, B&B
Carpet Retail Center, and the Zitco Building.

The construction West Radium Business Center and Systematic Refrigeration developments marked the
completion of the City's Industrial Park south of 166and east of Sunfish Lake Blvd. that commenced in
