MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br /> <br />DATE: June 26, 2001 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Approval to Operate a Raffle <br /> <br />The attached application from MN Deer Hunter Isanti County Chapter for exemption from a <br />lawful gambling license to hold a raffle during the 2001Game Fair, which is held in the City of <br />Ramsey. City approval/denial is necessary under the State Statues. MN Deer Hunter oflsanti <br />County Chapter meets all of the requirements which allows them to remain exempt from <br />licensing, primarily from the standpoint that the commodities to be raffled are valued at less than <br />$750.00 <br /> <br />While the Game Fair is several months away, the MN Deer Hunter Isanti County Chapter will be <br />sending out ticket information throughout the country upon approval of this application, and <br />those tickets cannot be mailed until approval has taken place. <br /> <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br />:101- <br /> <br /> <br />
