.Case # <br /> <br />Award Bids for 2001 Street Maintenance Program <br />By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On July 17, 2001 bids were opened for the 2001 Street Maintenance Program. This year the <br />program was divided into two divisions. Division A consists of work associated with crack <br />sealing and seal coating streets on eleven individual projects and also the parking lot at Central <br />Park. Division B consists of a one and one half bituminous overlay on five individual <br />subdivision projects. Attached are the results of the bids. <br /> <br />It should be noted that the Division A Iow bid is 14% below the construction estimate contained <br />in the February 2001 feasibil!ty study. Division B is 4% below this estimate. <br /> <br />The available budget for funding this program is as follows: <br /> <br />Developer Escrows <br />(First seal coating) <br />City Contribution <br />Assessments <br />Park Maintenance <br />(Seal coating of Central Park lot) <br />Storm Water Utility Fund <br />(Storm water cross qutters) <br />Total Financing Available <br /> <br />$26,910 <br /> <br />$203,874 <br />$193,146 <br />$5,400 <br /> <br />$14,725 <br /> <br />$444,055 <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends awarding contracts to the lowest responsible-bidders in each division; <br />Division A Allied Black Top Inc. in the amount of $126,525 and Division B to North Valley <br />Inc. in the amount of $213,635.19. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt resolutions awarding Divisions A and B to Allied Black Top Inc. and North <br />.Valley Inc. in the amounts orS176,525 and $213,635.19, respectively. <br /> <br />Reviewed bY: <br /> <br />City Engineer <br />Director of Public Works <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />CC: 07/24/01 <br /> <br />-87- <br /> <br /> <br />
