I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I ,I I I I Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #01-08- RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PEDESTRIAN RAMP PROJECT. WHEREAS, on March 27, 2000, the City of Ramsey applied for Community Development Block Grant funding to replace 'B' style and surmountable concrete curbs with ADA compliant pedestrian ramps at select intersections of City trails and streets; and WHEREAS, on July 13,2001, an Advertisement for Bids was printed in the Anoka County Union and the Construction Bulletin outlining the project for fourteen pedestrian ramps; and WHEREAS, on July 25, 2001, bids were opened at City Hall and one bid was received from Thomas and Sons Construction Inc; and WHEREAS, said bid was approximately 460% above the $8,634.00 allocated for the project NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, that: 1. The City Council hereby rejects the bid from Thomas and Sons Construction Inc. due to it's excessive nature. 2. The City Council orders staff to redefine the scope and specificationS of the CDBG pedestrian ramp project and readvertise for bids. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember ., and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: And the following voted against the same: And the following abstained: And the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 14th day of August, 2001.
