I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Councilmember <br /> <br />__introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #01-08-XXX <br /> <br />RESOLUTON AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM MINNESOTA <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AN ENGINEERING STUDY TO <br />DETERMINE THE.APPROPRIATE SPEED LIMIT FOR THE SEGMENT OF CSAH <br />116 FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH TRUNK HIGHWAY #47 TO A POINT 1,320 <br />FEET EAST THEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the existing speed limit through said segment is 55 mph and is unposted; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the speed limit on the other three legs of the intersection of CSAH 116 and <br />Trunk Highway #47 are 50 mph and 45 mph; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there have been a high number of accidents within this segment of highway <br />in which speed may have had a role. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a traffic study be conducted by <br />MnDOT for the purpose of determining the .appropriate speed limits for the above referenced <br />segments of roadway; and <br /> <br />2) That upon completion of said study and authorizing order form the Commission of <br /> Transportation that the appropriate speed limit sign be installed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />-115- <br /> <br /> <br />
