-44- Commissioner Reeve stated that it seemed premature for the Commission to be discussing the issue at this point. A1 Farms, 6360 Riverdale Drive, Ramsey, stated that his home is located across from the proposed development. He stated that he is one hundred percent in favor of the residential development. ~ Chairperson Nixt inquired if' Mr. Farms was in favor of the development because it would be an improvement to the area. Mr. Farms replied yes. John Freeberg, Riverdale Drive, Ramsey, stated that he lives across from the proposed development and felt that the development would be a good use of the property. The alternatives for the property are not that exciting for the neighborhood. This would be the best use for the land and would provide a buffer between his property knd the Amoco. Chairperson Nixt noted that letters were received from Grosslein Beverage, Inc., and Electric Systems of Anoka, Inc. opposing the residential development. Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Reeve, to close the public hearing. Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nix.t, Commissioners Reeve, Johnson, Kociscak, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commis'sioner Sweet. The public hearing closed at 10:27 p.m. Commission Business Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 10:27 p.m. Commissioner Kociscak stated that he would not place an 8-plex in that location. He stated that did not think it would be good location for kids to be playing because there is a lot of traffic in the area. Commissioner Johnson replied that there are already houses across the street. Chairperson Nixt inquired if there would be time for' the developer to work with staff and the DNR and then bring the issue back for consideration by the Planning Commission. Mr. Bulow replied yes.
