PUBLIC HEARING AND LEVY OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS <br />FOR THE 2001 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />CASE # <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The 2001 Street Maintenance Program consisted of sixteen individual projects coveting 18.8 miles of street. <br />The individual projects are as follows: <br /> <br />SEALCOAT/CRACK SEAL PROJECTS <br /> <br />01-02 <br />01-03 <br />01-04 <br />01-05 <br />01-06 <br />01-07 <br />01-08 <br />01-09 <br />01-I0 <br />01-11 <br /> <br />Flintwood Hills 2nd & 3rd Addition, Juniper Woods 1st & 2nd Addition <br />164th Lane NW <br />Hunters Hills <br />Whispering Pines Plat 3, Barthel's Rum River Acres, Carol Rose/Sportshaven <br />177th Avenue East of TH47 <br />Whispering Pines Plat 5, Pine Cove <br />Hedghog/152nd Avenue <br />Ford Brook Estates 3rd Addition <br />Barthels Rum River Estates 2nd Addition, Sorterberg's Addition, 161st Avenue <br />Highway 10 Ramsey/Hauser <br /> <br />01-12 <br />01-13 <br />01-14 <br />01-15 <br />01-16 <br /> <br />OVERLAYS <br /> <br />Gorhams Sandy Acres, Gorhams Unplatted <br />Halland Acres <br />White Pine Estates <br />Riverwood Hills <br />High Point <br /> <br />Eleven projects covering 14.3 miles of roadway consisted of sealcoating proceeded by the filling of major <br />cracks. Only ten of these projects will be assessed, since project 01-01 was funded by developers escrows <br />set-aside for the first sealcoating of a newly constructed pavement. <br /> <br />Five projects coveting 4.5 miles of street consisted of placing a one and one half-inch bituminous overlay <br />over the existing pavement. All projects have been completed and the final costs tabulated. <br /> <br />The City's policy is to assess 50% of the total cost of the work to the benefited property owners. The cost of <br />the storm sewer work associated with Project 01-16 is being completely funded through the City's storm <br />water utility.
