IONS <br /> Rhonda Heryla, Human ResourCes Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the Personnel Committee meeting on August 28, 2001, the Policy For Appointing <br />Members Of City Boards And Commissions was reviewed and changes were <br />recommended. A copy of the revised policy is attached. To summarize, the changes to <br />the policy are as follows: <br /> <br />The evaluation panel will include the full City Council, Chair and Vice-Chair of the <br />applicable board or commission, and Human Resources Manager or Assistant City <br />Administrator (as a non-voting member). <br /> <br />"Administrative Services Manager" has been replaced by "Human Resources <br />Manager or Assistant City Administrator." <br /> <br />The interviews will be held in an open, non-televised meeting. <br /> <br />Language has been added to ensure City staff contacts incumbents to determine <br />whether or not they wish to serve an additional term in office (if term limits have not <br />been met). <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council adopts the Policy For Appointing Members Of <br />City Boards And Commissions with the amended language as shown in 'the following <br />pages. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend the adoption of the amended Policy For Appointing Members Of <br />City Boards And Commissions. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />PC: 8/28/0l <br /> <br />-331- <br /> <br /> <br />
