-110- <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendr/ksen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #01-10-XXX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #00-29 (PUMPHOUSE NO. 3) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on September 19, 2001, pursuant to an advertisement for the construction <br /> <br />of Wellhouse No. 3, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br /> Bidder <br />Magney Construction, Inc. <br />Rice Lake Contracting Corporation <br />Municipal Builders, Inc. <br />Terranova L.L.C <br /> <br />Amountof Base Bid <br /> $451,500.00 <br /> $437,600.00 <br /> $482,9O0.OO <br /> $524,000.00 <br /> <br />Alternate Bid A <br />$84,OOO.00 <br />$100,000.00 <br />$88,OO0.0O <br />$82,0OO.00 <br /> <br />Alternate Bid B <br /> $25,OO0.0O <br /> $39,5OO.OO <br /> $34,000.00 <br /> $55,000.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$440,000.00 $115,000.00 $25,000.00 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the emergency generator (Alternate Bid A) was deemed necessary <br />during discussions of this project last year, <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that Magney Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible <br />bidder with the addition of said Alternate Bid A. <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, Magney Construction, Inc. has offered a $40,000 deduct for using a <br />suitable alternative, Automatic Systems, to the SCADA system that was specified. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby author/zed and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Magney Construction, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />installation of a generator and construction of Pumphouse No. 3 in the amount of <br />$495,500.00 <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> ] <br /> ] <br /> ] <br /> <br /> i <br /> <br />i <br />I <br />! <br />l, <br />! <br />] <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
