-136- Councilmember adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved for its RESOLUTION #01-09- A RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING FINDINGS AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLIT3aN COUNCIL FOR 3aN AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, on June 15, 2001, the City of Ramsey received a request for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan from Bulow, Inc. (the Applicant) for the purpose of amending the land use designation of the following legally described property from commercial to high density residential: Lot 1, Block 1, Bulow's Addition, Anoka CoUnty, Minnesota (the Subject Property) AND WHEREAS, the Comprehens{ve Plan Amendment approved in 1995 showed the Subject Property's designated land use as commercial; and. WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on October 4, 2001, conducted a public hearing, and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the request for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the property has been designated for commercial uses since the 198'0 Comprehensive Plan and has not yet been developed for commercial uses; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that changing the land use designation to high density residential is beneficial to the City as a whole. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOIC4 COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary documentation to Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the 1995 Comprehensive Plan to designate the Subject Property as high density residential.
