Memo DATE: TO: FROM: RE: January 26, 2011 Ramsey Planning Commission Community Development Staff Staff Update CASE # City Council Update. The following is a brief summary of actions taken in November that may be of interest to the Planning Commission: Consider a Street Name change for a portion of Azurite Street in the Sunfish Lake Business Park. The City Council tabled action on the proposed street name changed and referred the issue to the EDA for further review. Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Exceed the Allowed Square Footage for Accessory Structures at 8150144` Ave NW. The City Council approved the request for a Conditional Use Permit. Concept Plan for Go Cart Track at Former Oasis Market. The City Council reviewed a request from Karl Janzen regarding the potential for use of City -owned property to operate a go -cart track. The request will be reviewed in further detail at an upcoming Work Session. The proposal would require an Interim Use Permit which would be reviewed by the Planning Commission for recommendation. Request for Site Plan, Final Plat, and Conditional Use Permit Review of Cross of Hope. The City Council approved the plat, site plan, and Conditional Use Permit for the Cross of Hope expansion. Two additional steps, vacating certain easements and conveying real property, will be considered in February to complete the review.. Consider extension to timeline to record Final Plat of MICHELS PROPERTY. The City Council approved an extension of six (6) months to record the Final Plat of MICHELS PROPERTY. Update on MRCCA Rulemaking. The timeline established for the DNR to complete rulemaking has expired, and thus would require legislative authority to complete the rulemaking process. Legislation has been introduced both in the Senate and the House to repeal the section of the statute that authorized the rulemaking update. That legislation passed the Environmental Committee and awaits further action. The City Council did pass a resolution asking for the repeal of the statute as drafted in the Legislature. As you can tell, the City has now implemented the new AgendaQuick software for Boards and Commissions. The Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment agendas will now be available through the City's website for easy retrieval.
