With each new position, staff must either write or revise the job <br />description, post positions internally, write newspaper advertisements, and assemble materials and <br />panel members for interviews, Under the 2002 budget, the following positions are new: <br /> <br />Police: <br /> <br />Community Service Officer (increase from part- to full-time) <br />Corporal (promote one patrol officer) <br /> <br />Public Works: <br /> <br />Mechanic (increase from part- to full-time) <br />Engineering Tech IV (full-time) <br /> <br />Community Development: Associate Planner (full-time) <br /> <br />After recruiting and interviewing applicants, staff will return to Council to make a recommendation <br />and request approval to hire an individual to fill the vacancy. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends authorizing the recruitment of the newly created positions approved under the <br />2002 budget. ~ <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council authorize staff to begin recruiting for the newly created <br />positions approved under the 2002 budget. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Police Chief <br />Director of Public Works <br />Community Development Director <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />PC: 12/11/00 <br /> <br /> <br />
