Voting No: None..absent: Commissioners Johnson and Kociscak. 1) City Council regular meeting minutes dated November 13, 2001 PUBLIC HEARINGS/COMMISSION BUSINESS Case #1: Request for an Interim Use Permit to Allow fo~(an Uiii~roved Parking Lot as Prmmple Use of a Property; Case of Ano~a~Hennepin Techmcal College Chairperson Nixt closed the regular portion of the Plying Comm~ss~o~ :~t~ng at 7:01 p.m: in order to call the public hearing to order. ,:~;:~ >:,; Public Hearing '~?:~::·:: Chairperson NLxt called the public heari~ng to order at 7:01 p.m. Principal Planner Trudgeon stated that'Anoka-Hennep~-Teahnica~:~College has submitted an application for an Interim Use Permit to~iOw for an unimproved Parl~ing lot as the principal use of a property. The property itself is located on. Highway 10'.al;the Anoka-Ramsey border and formally was an ICO gas station. The Coll:egelaas negotiated a five-year lease with an option to purchase with th~i~r°perty 'owner, Inter CitY:0'i~ Company, Inc. He explained that the applicant is requesting[°!iuse the ICO:Pr°perty as a par~ 10t'~til the end of May 2002. The College has indicated, that;t~ey plan on ~ing on a more P~Ci'~'ent solution for using the property over the winter mon'~..~.. Anoka-Hennepin Technical College is running short of available parking spaces due to-~'bir-~eat expansf/~'~l's~,The College i}!;~r~oposing to keep the buildings up on the property for the time b~i.~:-~ G~vbffth~ Iim~teaii~Ciu'~h;-0'i~ that the College is asking to .use the property asa parking lot, Staff-ha rio objection at-~-~'time.
