Background: <br />Discuss 2011 Park and Recreation Commission Work Plan <br />By: Mark Riverblood, Park's Supervisor <br />The purpose of this case is to discuss a generalized work plan as a forecast for the coming <br />year. It is also an opportunity for individual Commission members to add projects that <br />they may desire to take the lead on. <br />Observations: <br />The bullets below are estimates of when various items of business may be before the <br />Commission. This forecast is an estimate or approximation and will change from month <br />to month, but maybe useful in both planning, and organizing Staff and the Commission's <br />work load. (Commissioners will note that the potential agenda becomes less known as <br />the months' progress, and also activity on 2011 CIP projects are not projected after <br />February/March.) <br />o January 2011: <br />Develop work plan. <br />Appoint Chair and Vice - Chair. <br />Verbal Report on Ice Skating Opportunities. <br />o February: <br />Define short and long -term budget for `North Park'. <br />Outline Plan for 2011 CIP projects. <br />Discuss Grant Applications for Trail Projects. <br />Affirm Recommendation for Canoe and Kayak System for Sunfish Lake. <br />o March: <br />Discuss Environmental Expo Planning and Participation. <br />Recommend Phasing and Implementation Plan for `North Park.' <br />Review Fiber Optic Opportunities and Security Cameras for Parks. <br />Case #1 <br />o April: <br />Review Collaborative between Ramsey and County on `Go Anoka County.' <br />Discuss Outdoor Meeting Schedule. <br />Review Park and Trail Plan Map for Accuracy; as well as Relevance for User(s). <br />o May: <br />Report on Collaborative with Anoka Ramsey Community College: Field Biology - <br />Case Study of Sunfish Lake <br />Bike Friendly Communities Presentation <br />Develop Agenda and Focus for Joint Meeting with City Council. <br />
