Mayor Ramsey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 09 -10 -245 <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 10.1 OF THE PERSONNEL POLICY: <br />TRAVEL POLICY <br />WHEREAS, over time it has become evident that the City's current reimbursement <br />policy for meals is not sufficient to cover meals during out of state travel to certain higher cost <br />cities; and <br />WHEREAS, staff proposed use of the IRS guidelines for allowances for meals and <br />incidental expenses under the high -low substantiation method; and <br />WHEREAS, if staffs proposal is accepted by the City Council, the IRS' current year <br />schedule of high and low rates and applicable cities will be available on the City of Ramsey <br />Intranet. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council amends the Travel Policy of the Personnel Policy to reflect <br />adoption of the IRS' high -low substantiation method schedule for meals and incidental <br />expenses. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />McGlone, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Wise <br />and the following voted against the same. <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />and the following were absent: <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Resolution #09 -10 -245 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
