CHARTER COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Charter Commission conducted a regular meeting on Thursday, September 6, 2001, <br />at the Ramsey Fire Station No. 2, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Timothy Vo~ <br />Commissioner Sandra Bertzyk <br />Commissioner'Barry Ch/ids <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Lauri Ebel <br />Commissioner Marguerite Henke <br />Commissioner Hannah LaMere <br />Commissioner Darlene Milless <br />Commissioner Brian Swanson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br />City Attorney William K. Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Vogt called the regular meeting of the Charter Commission to order at 7:05 p.m. <br />Chairperson Vogt also apologized for missing the last meeting but complimented Vice-Chair <br />Childs on the job he did chairing the meeting. <br /> <br />WELCOME BY MAYOR: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec was present to congratulate the newly appointed .members to the Commission and <br />welcome them on behalf of the Council. He also gave a brief history of the Charter. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Ben Deemer stepped down from the Commission table and spoke from the podium because he <br />did not fee] that making his speech as a Commissioner of the Charter was the proper use of that <br />position. His speech was to clear up some misperceptions by certain citizens about the City's <br />Charter. Mr. Deemer handed out a copy of his input. (Exhibit A) <br /> <br />APPROVE MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Ch/Ids to-approve the minutes <br />from the August 9, 2001 Charter Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Vogt, Commissioners Deemer, Ch/Ids, Bertzyk, Ebel, <br />Henke, LaMere, Milless and Swanson.
