CHARTER COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Charter Commission conducted a regular meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2001, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Keith Kiefer <br />Commissioner Barry Childs <br />Commissioner Dennis Donovan <br />Commissioner Marguerite Henke <br />Commissioner Hannah LaMere <br />Commissioner Richard Netzioff <br />Commissioner Timothy Vogt <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Kathy Rosenow ' <br />Commissioner Virginia Spain Brist <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Kiefer called the regular meeting of the Charter Commission to order at 7:03 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak was present to introduce herself to the charter Commission. She <br />added that she talked with residents about a ward system while she was campaigning and people <br />appeared interested in going to a ward system. People want their own representative. <br /> <br />Kerry Manuel, 15668 Juniper Ridge Drive NW, Ramsey, stated that he is representing a group of <br />homeowners totaling about 100, who are concerned with density. There is also a concern with <br />the Charter. Law firms have sent letters to the City, residents have given letters and petitions to <br />the City and the City still has not preferred to protect the Charter (speaking of Chapter 14). <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Colmnissioner Childs and seconded by Commissioner Donovan to approve t:h~ <br />agenda with the addition of the case from City Attorney Goodrich as Case #lA: January 23, <br />2001 Charter Amendment Petition. <br /> <br />Charter Commission - February 15, 2001 <br /> Page 1 of 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
