CASE #2

SPECIAL ELECTION QUESTIONS
By: James E. Norman, City Administrator

Background:

During the Charter Commission meeting of April 19, 2001, the Commission was approached by
citizens requesting a special election to consider Charter amendments and advisory questions.
The Commission agreed to consider the questions and forward the request for a special election
to the City Council. This case was going to be presented on May 9, 2001, however, because
there was no quorum present, the meeting was rescheduled to May 17. City Attorney Goodrich
passed around handouts the evening of the 9th, and I am including them with this agenda. (The
handouts are on the colored paper.) Attorney Goodrich revised the respective amendments
again from those which you had previously received as a handout. That information is included
in your packet on plain white paper. Mr. Goodrich will be present at the Charter Commission
meeting to review all language changes with you.

Special Election Questions:
Charter Amendment Questi°ns
Ward Question.
